The recently developed LWP 1020 CB as well as the LWP CBA were only some of the products on show in the Lagafors stand.
IFFA is the leading international trade fair for processing, packaging and sales in the meat industry. This year’s event took place between May 4-9 in Frankfurt, Germany, and some 60,000 trade visitors from around 142 countries came to see the range of products and services offered by 960 exhibitors.

Lagafors had a number of products on display, covering both the central and decentral product offerings. “Over the years we have seen an increasing interest in our central cleaning systems,” says Pär-Magnus Elmblad, Managing Director Lagafors. “The Variable Chemical Center, VCC, remains the heart of the system.
The exact dosing of chemicals as well as the important savings of water are only some of the key features that attracts the visitors. Our unique LogTrace System (LTS) in turn helps our customers manage their cleaning processes, by ensuring traceability and providing a system of metrics for critical parameters. The VCC in combination with the LTS makes for an active system enabling actions to be taken that ensure optimal hygienic results,” he adds.

New compact foam cleaning unit
The latest entry in the product portfolio, the LWP 1020 CB (Low Water Pressure Pump 1020 Combi Booster), was one of the highlights on the stand. This compact, all-in-one foam cleaning unit has been specially developed for smaller production facilities. It consists of a Low Water Pressure pump, delivering 10 bar pressurised water, with built-in injector for the mixing of chemicals and disinfection. The chemical canisters are placed directly under the unit. The user just needs to connect the hose and the spray gun to the unit and start cleaning. “Many smaller slaughter houses and representatives from the HORECA segment showed interest in the unit as it is a perfect match for their needs,” says Martin Johansson, Product Manager Lagafors.

OEM – on the growth
Products specially developed for Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) customers is a growing segment for Lagafors. “We had our LWP CBA (Low Water Presssure Combi Booster Automatic) on display during the exhibition and got a number of interest requests, mainly from freezer manufacturers and smoking chamber producers,” says Pär-Magnus. “To expand our product portfolio in this area will be one of our main development efforts in the future,” he states.

“Overall I’m very satisfied with IFFA 2013. We got a number of leads originating from all five continents. This year we had many visitors coming from Russia, South America and Saudi Arabia. For Lagafors this means an excellent opportunity to continue our international expansion. Thanks to our solid global distributor’s network I feel confident that we will manage to follow up and take care of all existing and potential customers worldwide,” Pär-Magnus concludes.
