After four hectic days, Anuga FoodTec in Cologne, Germany, closed its doors on Friday, March 23. During these four days, 50,000 visitors mingled with 1,700 exhibitors from 50 different countries as they studied the latest innovative technologies for every aspect of the food-processing trade, from processing technology and packaging to quality assurance and hygiene.
A lot of these visitors dropped by Lagafors’ booth and they didn’t just come to look. Lagafors’ CEO, Magnus Elmblad, and Key Account Manager Martin Johansson have just returned from Cologne and are proud to say that Anuga FoodTec 2018 was the company’s best trade fair. Ever.
Anuga FoodTec in Cologne takes place every three years and is the world’s largest trade fair for innovative food-processing technology. From March 20 to 23, industry professionals from 140 countries flocked to this fair to discover new products and services, to network, and to lay the foundations for future business and collaboration opportunities.
Lagafors, who exhibited at Anuga FoodTec for the sixth time in a row, attracted a great deal of attention. This time, we had a 100 m2 booth so we could exhibit the width of our product range: we showcased both our CCS central cleaning system and our ACE II automated cleaning equipment.
Solutions big and small
Official launch of our new digital services for production monitoring and technical support at the fair. These services enable us to provide our customers with support regardless of where they are in the world.
“Our digitalization, with LTS (LogTrace System), TRA (Technical Remote Access) and TRS (Technical Remote Support), was the subject of eager attention from people in many sectors”, says Martin. “We’ve obviously carved out a niche with enormous potential.
Lagafors is a respected name in the industry—and we intend to build on that reputation.” Magnus Elmblad says:
“Our bold investment in this fair is a natural aspect of the growth phase we are in, and the response we have received proves that we are an innovative player to be reckoned with, even globally. At the same time, our extensive product range underscores Lagafors’ ability to deliver solutions that are tailored to both small and large production facilities.”
A lot of new leads
This fair provided us with lots of new leads, both in the food-processing industry and with OEM suppliers who would like to include Lagafors products in their own offerings. We also had the opportunity to strengthen our ties with many of our international distributors who also were at the fair, which is promising.
“We had a constant flow of very exciting visitors; not just people who took a brochure and moved on, but who displayed a keen interest in our company and what we could achieve together”, says Magnus Elmblad. Furthermore, a lot of our existing customers dropped by and gave us the thumbs-up to show us how happy they are with the quality of our products and systems. That’s a nice feeling.”
Martin Johansson finishes by saying:
“We have now shown food producers from all around the world what we can deliver. Our next step is to follow up the leads we’ve created and convert them into orders. And that is a very pleasant challenge.”
